Georgia Stanway of England wants Luis Rubiales’ resignation “to be the start of something, rather than the end of something” for the women’s game.

After kissing Jenni Hermoso following Spain’s victory in the women’s World Cup final, Rubiales announced his resignation as president of the Spanish Football Federation.

Hermoso, 33, said the kiss was not consensual and on Tuesday she filed a lawsuit.

Stanway added, “Everyone has fought, and we have fought as a women’s football team.”
