Bryan Randall: Sandra Bullock was praised for the ‘amazing’ way she cared for her partner.

People have said that Sandra Bullock did a “amazing” job of taking care of her long-term boyfriend in his last years.

Bryan Randall died at age 57. He had had amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for three years.

Randall’s family said in a statement that they were “extremely grateful to the hardworking doctors” who helped them through his illness.

In a tribute she shared on Instagram, Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Brado, also praised her for how caring she was.

“ALS is a cruel disease,” she wrote, “but it gives me some comfort to know that my wonderful sister and the group of nurses she put together to help her care for him in their home were the best caretakers he could have.”

“I’m sure Bry has found the best place in heaven to fish, and he’s already throwing his lure into rushing rivers full of salmon.”

Randall’s family told People first about his death in a letter.

The photographer “decided early on to keep his journey with ALS private,” his family said. “Those of us who cared for him did our best to respect his wish,” they added.

Most people who have motor neuron disease (MND) have ALS.

The family’s statement went on to say, “We are very thankful to the hardworking doctors who helped us through this illness and to the amazing nurses who became our friends and often gave up time with their own families to be with ours.

“At this time, we’d like to be left alone so we can grieve and come to terms with the fact that we can’t say goodbye to Bryan.”

Sandra Bullock is best known for her roles in movies like “Speed,” “Gravity,” and “Miss Congeniality.” In 2010, she got an Oscar for her role in “The Blind Side.”
