Charles Leclerc of Ferrari surprises everyone by taking the lead in the Mexico City Grand Prix, ahead of Carlos Sainz.

A stunning Ferrari one-two in qualifying for the Mexico City Grand Prix was led by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Leclerc overtook Sainz by 0.067 seconds, demonstrating the unexpected speed of the Scuderia, while Max Verstappen of Red Bull was 0.097 seconds behind the lead in third.

Daniel Ricciardo’s outstanding fourth place finish for Alpha Tauri contributed to the grid’s surprising vibe.

For Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton came in sixth and George Russell in eighth.

Hometown hero Sergio Perez finished the second Red Bull in fifth place, 0.160 seconds behind teammate Verstappen. Lando Norris’ McLaren finished the qualifying round in an unexpected 19th place.
