Israeli strikes on the West Bank Palestinian Jenin camp

The Israeli army has initiated a large military offensive in the northern West Bank camp of Jenin.

It all started with a series of air attacks. Social media videos showed smoke rising from a residential building.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least three Palestinians have been murdered and 12 others have been injured in the continuing raid.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they were targeting “terrorist infrastructure in the Jenin area.”

“We will not stand by idle while terrorists use Jenin Camp as a hideout,” they declared, adding that the camp was a “terrorist stronghold.”

“We will fight the occupation forces until the last breath and bullet,” stated the Jenin Battalion, a military umbrella that includes armed men from Palestinian parties Fatah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. “We work together and unified from all factions and military formations.”

Dozens of armed, masked Palestinians were stationed in the camp’s back alleys.

According to Ahmed Zaki, a camp resident, “columns of Israeli army vehicles penetrated the outskirts of the camp from several streets.”

The Israeli military murdered at least six Palestinians last month during a raid on the Jenin camp, the first time it had utilized attack helicopters in the West Bank in years.

In that attack, seven Israeli troops and border police officers were injured.
