Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, the super-middleweight champion of Mexico, will compete against Jermell Charlo in Las Vegas.

‘Canelo’ Saul Alvarez has declared that Jermell Charlo will be his opponent in his upcoming battle on September 30.

In Las Vegas, the undisputed Mexican super-middleweight champion will face the American to defend his titles.

On May 6, 2016, Alvarez, 32, defeated British boxer John Ryder in a triumphant title defense.

Charlo, 33, is the undisputed light-middleweight champion at this time and has triumphed in 35 of his 37 contests.

Through social media posts with the hashtags “UNDISPUTED vs UNDISPUTED” and “fight date,” the two combatants announced their matchup.

Charlo, who now holds the WBO, IBF, WBA, and WBC light-middleweight championships, lost only once in 2018.

In front of more than 50,000 spectators in Guadalajara, Mexico, Alvarez defeated Ryder by unanimous decision to raise his overall record to 59 victories from 63 professional fights. Alvarez continues to be one of the most feared names in boxing.

He has previously been mentioned as a potential opponent for middleweight fighter Jermell’s twin brother Jermall.
