Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia is close to signing Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is on the verge of joining Saudi Pro-League club Al Ahli.

Although negotiations are ongoing, Mendy is anticipated to join the other big-name players relocating to the country.

The 31-year-old Senegal international joined Chelsea from Rennes in 2020, offering competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He was crowned Uefa’s goalkeeper of the season and Best Fifa Men’s goalie for 2021 after being first choice and winning the 2020-21 Champions League.

Mendy would join the rising numbers of great players tempted to join a Saudi Arabian club if he moved to Al Ahli.

N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea teammate, just decided to join league champions Al-Ittihad, where he will be joined by Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.

Meanwhile, Blues defender Kalidou Koulibaly and winger Hakim Ziyech are reportedly being pursued by league clubs.
