Roseate House: An Indian man “cheats” a fancy hotel in Delhi out of a free stay for two years.

A man in India stayed in a five-star hotel in the city, Delhi, for almost two years without paying the bill, according to reports.

Managers at the Roseate House near Delhi Airport called the police when they found what seemed to be a scam 603 days into the man’s stay.

He is said to owe the hotel more than 5m rupees, which is about $70,000 or £55,000.

The lawsuit says that the man worked together with staff to hide the growing bills. No one has been put in jail.

Even though the case was reported to the Delhi police on May 24, the local media have only just started to report on the facts.

The unnamed man checked into the hotel on May 30, 2019, after booking a room for one night. He stayed there until January 22, 2022, according to a story in the Indian Express newspaper.

Even though he didn’t pay, the report says that one of the staff kept extending his stay.

There are rumors that this was done by messing with other guests’ bills or just switching one for the other.

No names have been given.

“According to hotel rules, if a guest owes the hotel more than 50,000 rupees, the staff has to tell the managers and push the guest to pay. “This did not happen, though,” a top police officer told the newspaper.
