On the same night that veteran winger Jakub Blaszczykowski finished his international career, Poland defeated Germany in a friendly thanks to a goal from Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior.
Four years after his previous Poland game, Blaszczykowski, 37, earned his 109th cap, and he departed the field after 16 minutes to a standing ovation.
Kiwior’s first goal for Poland came from a corner header.
Germany attempted 26 shots in Warsaw but was unsuccessful.
After a Jan Bednarek handball in the second half, they briefly received a penalty, but the video assistance referee overruled it.
Germany is competing in friendlies rather than qualifying because it is the hosts of Euro 2024.
