Aston Villa have agreed a deal to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Youri Tielemans, a Leicester midfielder, has agreed to join Aston Villa.

After his contract with Leicester expires on July 1, the Belgian international, 26, will join the club.

Following Leicester’s relegation, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Roma were all said to be interested in Tielemans.

Tielemans, who is anticipated to be Villa’s first summer acquisition, joined Leicester in 2019 and helped the Foxes win the FA Cup in 2021.

The Belgian scored the only goal in Leicester’s 1-0 final victory over Chelsea. He scored 28 goals for the club in 195 appearances across all competitions.

Tielemans joined Leicester on loan from Monaco in January 2019, and his move was made permanent in July of that year in a then-club-record £40 million transaction.

He has also represented his country in two World Cups, in 2018 and 2022, as well as Euro 2020.

Tielemans joins Villa, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season and qualified for the Europa League.

Tielemans thanked Leicester fans in a farewell video message on Instagram in May, saying he would be “forever grateful” for their support.
