England 29-12 Canada: The Red Roses complete the series with a victory over 14-player Canada.

Gabrielle Senft was sent off in the 17th minute for a high tackle at Saracens’ StoneX Stadium, but England were unable to duplicate their 50-24 win over Canada last week.

First-half goals were scored by captain Marlie Packer, Ellie Kildunne, and Maud Muir.

After the break, Amber Reed and Jess Breach both scored.

Interim head coach Louis Deacon made eight substitutions as England tried out fresh combinations before unveiling their 30-man squad for the World XV competition on Sunday.

England’s offensive squandered opportunities and was thwarted by Canada’s tenacious defense in a gritty second half.

There were some encouraging signs, with the new center combination of player-of-the-match Amber Reed and Megan Jones putting in a terrific performance in her maiden start.

From October 20 to November 4, England will compete in the WXV1 competition alongside hosts New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.

They will be hoping that new head coach John Mitchell, who is presently working with Japan’s men at the World Cup in France, can assume permanent charge of the side before their first encounter against Australia.
