Five NFL players, including Jameson Williams, have been suspended for betting infractions.

Five NFL players, including 2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams, have been suspended for gambling code violations.

Williams and fellow Detroit Lions receiver Stanley Berryhill have been suspended for the first six games of the 2023 season.

Fellow Lions receiver Quintez Cephus and safety CJ Moore, as well as Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney, have been suspended indefinitely.

The trio will miss the 2023 NFL season after betting on the 2022 season.

They can apply for readmission at the end of the season.

Williams and Berryhill, who will be permitted to participate in off-season and pre-season activities, were punished for betting on non-NFL games from an NFL facility.

“A league review uncovered no evidence indicating that any inside information was used or that any game was compromised in any way,” the NFL stated in a statement.

“The NFL’s gambling policy, which is reviewed annually with all NFL personnel, including players, prohibits anyone in the NFL from engaging in any form of gambling in any club or league facility or venue, including the practice facility.”
