News Update

Hannah Montana’s Mitchel Musso has been arrested for snacks theft.

In the Disney sitcom, he played Oliver Oken with Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Police were called to a hotel in Rockwell, Texas, on Saturday after the 32-year-old was accused of stealing the crisps, according to NBC.

Musso’s representatives have been contacted by BBC News for comment.

Musso allegedly refused to pay for the crisps and got verbally hostile when asked.

Musso was subjected to a background check, which revealed that the actor had many outstanding traffic warrants.

Musso spent the night in jail before being released on a $1,000 (£793) bond on Sunday.

The actor is also charged with having an expired automobile registration, failing to produce a driver’s license, and failing to appear on a “promise to appear” notice.

Musso’s mugshot was also published by NBC, which received the jail records.

Musso was previously arrested for drunk driving in Burbank, California, in 2011.

He was fined, sentenced to 36 months of informal probation, and ordered to attend alcohol education sessions for that offense.

Hannah Montana, a four-season US sitcom that aired from 2006 and 2011, portrayed a teenage girl who led a double life as a successful music artist.

It starred Miley Cyrus, who has since launched a solo career, opposite her real-life father, country musician Billy Ray Cyrus.

Musso has since voiced a character in another Disney series, Milo Murphy’s Law, and acted in the films Sins of Our Youth and The Sand.
