Romelu Lukaku, a striker for Chelsea, is wanted back by Inter Milan this summer.
Lukaku, 30, spent the previous season on loan from Chelsea with Inter.
The Belgian scored 14 goals, assisting Inter in their third-place Serie A finish and Champions League final appearance.
Current discussions with Manchester United regarding goalkeeper Andre Onana might aid Inter in obtaining the funding necessary to bring Lukaku back to the San Siro permanently.
According to reports, Chelsea wants £40 million for Lukaku, while United believes Inter’s demand for £50 million for Onana is excessive.
Lukaku was first acquired by Inter Milan from Manchester United in the summer of 2019 for an 80 million euro club record on a five-year deal.
He was signed by Chelsea for £97.5 million in August 2021 after making 95 appearances and scoring 64 goals over the course of two seasons. Chelsea was expecting he would perform at a greater level than during his last stay at Stamford Bridge between 2011 and 2014, when he failed to score in 15 games.
Under Thomas Tuchel, he only made 16 Premier League starts for the Blues, and last season, he went back on loan to Inter.
