The Olympic WCP is a National Lottery-funded program of UK Sport that aims to find, develop, and support bright athletes in their pursuit of medal success at the Olympic Games and other major Championships.

The WCP is divided into three tiers that reflect athletes’ current and projected performance development levels: podium, podium potential, relay, and confirmation. Athletes are nominated for the WCP to help UK Athletics achieve its goal of winning medals at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 or Los Angeles in 2028.

As a result, UKA must be confident that any athlete nominated for the WCP has the realistic potential, verifiable performance capabilities, and capacity to make the necessary development in order to win a medal at one of the next two Olympic Games. UKA is dedicated to the notion that winning must always be done with honesty and in accordance with UK Sport’s objective to “Keep Winning and Win Well.”

As in previous years, WCP participation is contingent on UK Sport ratification and a signed athlete agreement between the athlete and UKA.
