Kylian Mbappe was not on Paris St.-Germain’s preseason trip to Asia.
The club’s player with the most goals ever won’t sign a one-year extension to his deal, which ends next summer.
So, PSG would rather sell the French forward now for a transfer fee than let him leave for free.
Mbappe, on the other hand, has said that he wants to stay with PSG for one more year before going when his current contract is up.
People think that he wants to join Real Madrid for free at the end of the next season.
The scorer is still the second most expensive player of all time. He moved to PSG in 2017 for £165.7m. Since coming to Real Madrid from AS Monaco, the World Cup winner has scored 212 goals in 260 games.
PSG thinks that the way things are right now can’t go on and that Mbappe can’t stay with them, so they have decided to leave him at home.
Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made it clear that he wants to take a hard line on the problem. He has said that it is “impossible” that Mbappe will be allowed to leave for free in 2024.
Several teams have asked about Mbappe, and it is thought that PSG would be willing to sell him this summer. People don’t think the forward would take any deal, since he wants to join Real Madrid next summer.
Last season, PSG won Ligue 1, but they only beat RC Lens by one point, despite having a lot of money. They were also knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich in the round of 16.
Christophe Galtier was fired as manager earlier this summer, and Luis Enrique, who had been in charge of Barcelona, AS Roma, and Spain, took over.
Lionel Messi, another star forward for PSG, has already left this summer. The Argentine, whose team beat Mbappe’s France in the World Cup final in Qatar last December, has joined Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami.
