Magnus White, a 17-year-old US junior rider, perished in a training accident.

Magnus White, a young American rider, lost his life after being struck by a car while practicing in his hometown of Colorado.

The accident occurred while the 17-year-old, a member of the US youth men’s national team, was out riding in Boulder.

The Junior Men’s Mountain Bike Cross-Country World Championships will be held in Glasgow the following month, and White had been practicing for them.

The death of 17-year-old Magnus White in a training accident was announced by USA Cycling. “It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news,” the organization said.

White participated in the 2022 and 2023 UCI Cyclocross World Championships and won the 2021 Junior 17–18 Cyclocross National Championships.

The organization USA Cycling continued, “He was a rising star in the off-road cycling scene, and his passion for cycling was evident through his racing and camaraderie with his team-mates and local community.”
