Middlesbrough have rejected Aston Villa’s third proposal for forward Morgan Rogers.
Villa have sought the 21-year-old, but the Championship club rejected two proposals last week.
Boro owner Steve Gibson is keen not to sell the player for less than his estimated £12 million.
Rogers joined Boro for £1.5 million last summer, although Manchester City secured a significant sell-on fee as part of the deal.
In 33 games this season, he has seven goals and eight assists for Michael Carrick’s side.
The transfer window will close at 23:00 GMT on Thursday, February 1st.
