Paris 2024 Olympics: France will deploy 35,000 security personnel because to concerns about drone threats.

France will deploy 35,000 security and military troops to protect the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games against dangers such as drone attacks.

The opening ceremony will take place along a 6-kilometer stretch of the Seine River, with 160 boats carrying athletes and officials from over 200 countries.

More than 600,000 people are anticipated to crowd the path.

“Drones pose a completely new threat,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin stated.

“We’ve done a lot of work on the classic threat, whether it’s delinquents, armed with a weapon, or a bomb… We understand how to detect and counteract this threat.

“The presence of explosive-laden drones in the theater of civilian operations is novel. There is no guarantee that this threat will materialize, but it is the most difficult to counter.”

The opening ceremony for the Summer Games in Paris 2024 will be the first to take place outside of a stadium.

The Olympic flame will be installed on the Eiffel Tower, but not on top of the monument, according to organizers.

The 2024 Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
