Real Madrid 2-0 Manchester United: Man-of-the-Match Jude Bellingham scores

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham scored his first goal and was chosen man of the match in a 2-0 preseason friendly win over Manchester United in Houston, Texas.

The 20-year-old England midfielder, who joined the Spanish champions for £88 million, delivered an exquisite lob in the sixth minute to beat United’s debutant keeper Andre Onana.

Joselu secured the victory with two minutes remaining in front of a 67,801-strong crowd at NRG Stadium.

“There is a lot to aim for,” Bellingham stated following the game. “It is the biggest club in the world with the best players.”

“The stakes are high, as they should be.” It is up to us to go out there and match that.”

Bellingham has already settled in, based on his performance against AC Milan on Sunday and now against United.

A price tag that could eventually reach £115 million does not bother him. He has thrived in his new role at the top of an offensive diamond, and his stunning goal demonstrated that he has the class to succeed at the Bernabeu Stadium.

“I like to think I look like I’m having fun,” he remarked.

“I came here with confidence because I knew how good the players were.” I know what traits I can provide, and I feel like I fit in.

“I’m having a great time playing with this team and learning from so many great players.” I’m not about to get carried away just yet. There will be significant hurdles ahead, and I simply want to keep the momentum heading into the season.”

Bellingham dismissed a first-half brawl with United defender Lisandro Martinez, which occurred after the Argentine delivered a brutal tackle.

Mason Mount intervened to calm the scene after Bellingham pushed his opponent.

“It was just one of those things,” he explained. “I arrived at halftime dissatisfied. But when he came over to wish me luck before leaving, I truly appreciated it.

“It was two players trying to win for their team, and it occasionally spilled over.” It’s all part of the game. He’s a fantastic competitor and player.”
