Marianne Vos of the Netherlands won stage four of La Vuelta Femenina to extend her lead in the Spanish seven-day competition.
Vos easily defeated Emma Norsgaard in a sprint finish in Guadalajara to win the 133km stage from Cuenca and record her 248th victory on the Tour.
The 35-year-old now leads Chloe Dygert by 25 seconds, with Vos’ Jumbo-Visma teammate Riejanne Markus a further second back in third.
Lizzie Deignan of the United Kingdom finished sixth in her return to racing.
The 34-year-old, who had only recently returned to action after giving birth to her second child in September, helped her Trek-Segafredo team shut down a number of assaults late in the stage but still had the capacity to finish in the top ten.
