Al-Ittihad made a £40 million offer for Fabinho, which Liverpool accepted.

Jordan Henderson, the captain of Liverpool, has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but has instead visited Germany.

On Friday night, the Reds were presented with a bid for Brazilian midfielder Fabinho.

The 29-year-old was later decided to be excluded from the 32-man touring group, which departed on Saturday, by both the club and the player.

Fabinho joined Liverpool in July 2018 after being acquired by the Reds for somewhere around £39 million from Monaco.

Since then, he has contributed to the club’s victories in the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Premier League, and Fifa Club World Cup.

There are rumors that Al-Ettifaq, who recently hired former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard as their new manager, is interested in signing Henderson.

Although Liverpool has not set a price for the 33-year-old, the rumored £10 million bid is far less than what the club believes the player is worth given that he still has two years left on his contract and has been a key member of their team.

After losing James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to exits, the Reds have already begun to restructure their midfield.

They were searching for a long-term replacement for Fabinho when they signed Argentine international Alexis Mac Allister, 24, from Brighton, and Hungary captain Dominik Szoboszlai, 22, from RB Leipzig.

Romeo Lavia, a 19-year-old midfielder for Southampton, was one of those being considered, but if they lose Fabinho’s experience and perhaps Henderson’s as well, it is anticipated that the club will change their transfer plan.

However, Moises Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton who is anticipated to join Chelsea, is not one of the targets said to be in play.

The athlete emigration to Saudi Arabia

If his transfer is approved, abinho will be the most well-known footballer to move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Roberto Firmino, a former Liverpool teammate and fellow countryman, joined Al-Ahli after his contract with the Anfield club expired. Al-Ahli also acquired Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Senegal.

While all is going on, Al-Ittihad has already signed former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, and Celtic forward Jota from Portugal.

Al-Hilal has acquired Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea and Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves from Wolves.
