An investigation of the KSI and Logan Paul energy drink has been requested by a prominent US senator.

Leader of the Democratic Party in the United States Senate Chuck Schumer has requested an investigation into an energy drink endorsed by popular YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul.

Mr. Schumer claims that despite the drink’s high caffeine concentration, it is marketed toward youngsters.

Prime Energy has about twice as much caffeine as its main competitor, Red Bull, at 200mg per can.

There’s a warning on every bottle that says kids under 18 shouldn’t drink it.

Mr. Schumer, a Democrat, however, claimed that Prime Energy was marketed and sold “in near identical form” to a caffeinated product of the same brand.

He told reporters on Sunday in New York that some parents had purchased the caffeinated drink thinking it was safe for their children.

Later, he tweeted that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should look into PRIME because of its “absurd” caffeine content and social media marketing aimed at children.
