Arsenal will spend an extra night in Germany following their World Cup match when a bird sparks a plane fire.

Following a “technical issue” with their jet, Arsenal was forced to spend an extra night in Germany following the Women’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Wolfsburg.

According to the PA news agency, a bird flew into one of the engines as the plane was about to take off, causing it to catch fire.

Nobody was wounded, and the squad ultimately made their way back to their hotel.

Arsenal rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Wolfsburg.

The second leg takes place on Monday, May 1 at Emirates Stadium.

“Our aircraft developed a technical issue prior to take-off in Germany on Sunday evening,” Arsenal reported.

“As a result, we stayed overnight in Wolfsburg on Sunday before flying back to England on Monday afternoon.” We’d want to thank everyone on the plane and on the ground at the airport for their help.”
