Christmas Day NFL results and analysis: Ravens thrash 49ers, Raiders startle Chiefs, and Eagles defeat Giants

Baltimore won a thrilling triple-header on Monday, 33-19, as San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy, a leading candidate for most valuable player, had his poorest game since joining the league.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who were watched by Taylor Swift, previously missed out on a chance to win their division when they were defeated 20-14 at home by the Las Vegas Raiders due to a slew of errors.

The Philadelphia Eagles returned to winning ways after three straight losses, albeit they had to battle hard for their 33-25 victory over the New York Giants.

After defeating Dallas, the Dolphins secure a playoff spot.

Purdy intercepted four passes in the Ravens’ blowout.
It is unusual for the NFL’s two greatest teams to meet this late in the season – and the Baltimore Ravens won convincingly as Lamar Jackson surged ahead of rival QB Purdy in the race for most valuable player.

Purdy had been nearly perfect this season for the San Francisco 49ers, but he had by far his worst effort in the league, throwing four interceptions before departing the game with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter, as a rampaging Ravens defense dominated.

Jackson, on the other hand, scored two touchdowns in 18 seconds each side of a Purdy interception and added 45 yards rushing to his 252 passing yards in the type of all-action performance that earned him the league’s unanimous MVP award in 2019.

Following Baltimore’s strong win in San Francisco, Lamar Jackson vaulted to the top of the MVP race.
“I thought Lamar had the MVP performance tonight,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “It takes a team to put on a show like that, but it takes a player to perform at that level, to perform at an MVP level.” Lamar was everywhere on the field.”
