Europe and the United States have extended their trade truce in response to Trump tariffs.

duties on steel and aluminum in the United States, as well as retaliatory duties on items such as motorbikes and whisky in the European Union, will be deferred until the end of March 2025.

They were initially enforced on national security reasons during Donald Trump’s presidency.

They were, however, put on hold during Joe Biden’s presidency.

The delay will allow President Biden to maintain the support of his EU allies.

However, because they have been postponed rather than repealed, he will appear tough on trade to a home audience.
