Gaza’s cease-fire lets people look for family and damaged houses.

During the break in the war, people in Gaza are trying to get things they need, look for family and friends, and even go for a walk by the sea.

Some people have gone to their homes, or what’s left of them, to look at the damage and get back what they can.

Because of the cease-fire, more supplies can now get into the Palestinian area.

Israel put up a wall around the Gaza Strip and started its operation to get rid of Hamas in response to the attack on October 7 that killed at least 1,200 people in southern Israel and took more than 240 hostages.

The health ministry, which is run by Hamas, says that since then, more than 14,500 people have been killed in Gaza.

Qatar helped set up the four-day truce, which is meant to free 50 hostages and 150 Palestinian prisoners and inmates held in Israeli jails.
