Everton gets Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal for the rest of the season.

Everton has finished getting winger Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal for the rest of the season.

The Dutch forward signed a contract with Everton in January, but he ended up playing for Tottenham after they made a late move.

The 26-year-old only played for Spurs nine times before going back to Spain at the end of the season.

Danjuma said that he didn’t move to Merseyside in January because he wasn’t sure who would be the boss.

Frank Lampard was fired as Everton’s manager on January 23. Seven days later, on February 1, one day before the transfer window ended, Sean Dyche took over.

Danjuma is Dyche’s second deal as manager of Everton. His first was Ashley Young, a fullback. The Blues are trying to avoid another fight to stay up.

“I think that makes it even more beautiful for me to join now,” Danjuma said.

“Other clubs were interested in me, but I was drawn to Everton because of the fans, the manager, and the club’s history.”

“I’m lucky the second time around.”

Danjuma has played for the Netherlands six times and was a key player for Villarreal when they lost to Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals in 2021-22.

After joining Bournemouth in 2019 and moving for La Liga in 2021, this will be his third time in the English Premier League.

On Saturday, August 12, the Toffees start their Premier League season at home against Fulham.
