Shauna Bannon will make her UFC debut in July in London.

Shauna Bannon of Ireland has signed with the UFC and will make her official debut on July 22nd in London.

After Aisling Daly, who last fought in 2015, she is only the second Irishwoman to join the UFC.

Bannon will participate in the strawweight class alongside other Irishmen Conor McGregor and Ian Garry in the UFC.

“I am now reaching a huge milestone in my career,” she stated. “I’m grateful to everyone who helped me get here.”

Paddy Holohan, who fought five times in the UFC before retiring in 2015, is Bannon’s coach.

Bannon has only five professional wins, but she has a lengthy amateur resume that includes a gold medal at the 2021 International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) World Cup and silver at the 2019 World Championships.

Former champions Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza, as well as current two-weight champion Amanda Nunes, have all advanced from the all-women Invicta company.
