Ukraine war: Russian missile bombardment on Kyiv continues, according to the mayor
Russia is attacking Ukraine’s capital from the air, according to the mayor of Kyiv, the ninth attack this month.
As reports of multiple explosions in the city came in, Vitali Klitschko stated that a fire in one sector had been caused by falling debris.
Blasts were also heard in Vinnitsa, Khmelnitsky, and Zhytomyr in central Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian media, Russian missiles were launched from planes in the Caspian region.
Mr Klitschko wrote on Telegram, “The attack on the capital continues.” During the air alert, do not leave the shelters!”
He claimed the fire started in a garage in Kyiv’s Darnitsya neighborhood, but no one was hurt.
On Wednesday, shelling in Ukraine killed at least eight people, including a five-year-old boy near Kherson, and injured 17, as both sides traded allegations of targeting civilian areas.
