Luiz Suarez of Uruguay has signed with MLS club Inter Miami for the 2024 season, reuniting him with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba.

Suarez, 36, arrives as a free agent after leaving Gremio of Brazil.

“I look forward to reuniting with great friends and players,” Suarez stated in a statement.

Inter Miami’s chief commercial officer, Xavier Asensi, called the signing of the ex-Liverpool striker “another monumental moment” for the club.

Suarez, who has also won league titles with Nacional, Ajax, and Atletico Madrid, led Gremio to second place in the Brazilian Serie A in 2023, scoring 17 goals in 33 games.
