Creed III actor Jonathan Majors has been arrested on assault charges.

Jonathan Majors, the Creed III actor, has been arrested on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment.

Majors, who co-stars with Michael B Jordan in the recently released film, was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman on Saturday, according to the New York Police Department.

“The victim reported being assaulted to police,” a police spokesperson said.

Majors was briefly apprehended. A representative for the actor, 33, denied any wrongdoing.

The New York Police Department said they were called at 11:14 a.m. local time after receiving a 911 call from an apartment in Manhattan’s Chelsea district.

According to them, the woman suffered minor head and neck injuries and was taken to the hospital.

An NYPD spokesperson told the Associated Press that he was released from custody by Saturday night.

The actor’s representative told the Los Angeles Times: “He has committed no wrongdoing. We are looking forward to clearing his name and putting this behind us.”

Majors’ arrest comes just weeks after he presented an award at the Academy Awards.
