Dozens hurt in railway accident in India

In India’s eastern state of Odisha, two trains crashed, injuring at least 100 people, according to reports.

According to the state’s chief secretary, up to 50 ambulances have been dispatched to the area.

It’s thought that several people have passed away.

The event upset Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who stated that his thoughts were with the grieving families.


He tweeted, “Rescue operations are under way at the scene of the accident and all applicable assistance is being provided to those affected.”
