Following a dramatic loss in Belgium, England’s prospects of making progress in the Women’s Nations League were severely damaged.

Tessa Wullaert, a forward from Belgium, scored twice after halftime, including a penalty kick in the 85th minute, to hand the Lionesses their second loss of the competition.

Concerns were also raised for England defender Alex Greenwood, who was taken off on a stretcher in the first half after undergoing extensive treatment for a head injury.

Greenwood was substituted in Leuven, Belgium, with England trailing 1-0 following a spectacular free-kick curled in by center-back Laura de Neve.

Sarina Wiegman’s team, obviously rattled by Greenwood’s injury, bounced back with two outstanding goals from Lucy Bronze and Fran Kirby, but Belgium leveled the score once more before halftime thanks to a cool finish from captain Wullaert.
