Galatasaray is in talks with Wilfried Zaha, a forward who used to play for Crystal Palace.

The 30-year-old forward from Ivory Coast is now a free agent after his deal with Palace ended at the end of last month.

Palace allegedly offered Zaha £200,000 a week to stay at the club where he had spent most of his career.

But Galatasaray, which will be in the Champions League this season, said in a tweet that “formal negotiations” with the player have begun.

In a later Instagram post, Zaha made it clear that he would not be going back to Palace.

He has also been tied to the Italian team Lazio, the Saudi team Al-Nassr, and the Turkish team Fenerbahce.

Zaha played for England twice before he chose to play for the Ivory Coast. He joined Palace when he was 12 years old and scored 90 goals in 458 games.

He joined Manchester United in 2013, but he had two loan stints with Crystal Palace in between a stay with Cardiff. In 2015, he moved back to Crystal Palace for good.
