Liverpool defeated LASK to win the Europa League group stage.

Liverpool advanced to the final 16 of the Europa League after defeating LASK at Anfield.

Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo both scored in the first half, before Mohamed Salah’s penalty after the interval and Gakpo’s second late in a comfortable win.

The failure of Toulouse to defeat Union St-Gilloise assures that Liverpool cannot be caught at the top of Group E.

The Reds advance to the knockout stages and avoid the play-off round in February.

After an early double, Liverpool had complete control after 15 minutes.

First, Diaz blasted a wide ball to Joe Gomez before sprinting around the back of the defense into the area to meet the right-back’s cross and head it into the net.

Shortly after, the Dutchman finished a well-worked play involving Diaz, Salah, and Gakpo around the LASK box from close range.

Liverpool had numerous chances to end the game in the first half, but had to wait until LASK keeper Tobias Lawal fouled Gakpo in the area on 48 minutes for Salah to slam home the third, with Gakpo scoring a fourth after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s excellent pass.
