Son and Maddison score goals to put Tottenham back on top.

Son Heung-min and James Maddison scored goals that helped Tottenham Hotspur beat Fulham easily and go back to the top of the Premier League.

Spurs had only lost points this season in London derbies, to Arsenal and Brentford. But against Fulham, who didn’t have many players, they were always in charge.

In the 36th minute, Captain Son scored a great goal after Micky van de Ven blocked Calvin Bassey’s bad pass.

In the second half, Maddison scored a goal that was almost exactly the first. Another Bassey pass was blocked, and Son set up the England playmaker to comfortably slot home.

When Joao Palhinha headed in a corner, Guglielmo Vicario made a great save. That was Fulham’s best chance.

Spurs have had a great start to their time under Ange Postecoglou, and they played with a lot of confidence at the start of the game.

When Richarlison should have scored after Dejan Kulusevski set him up, he fired a shot wide. But Son soon scored the first goal, his seventh of the season.

Tottenham could have made it 2-0 before halftime, but Kulusevski’s close-range shot was saved. Maddison, Son, and Destiny Udogie had all played very well.

Fulham sometimes gave Tottenham trouble on the counterattack, but they couldn’t hurt Spurs until Maddison scored the game-winning goal. Spurs are now two points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the league.

There was a lot of talk about what Spurs would be like now that Harry Kane has left for Bayern Munich, but Postecoglou’s great play has hidden their former striker’s loss.

Son Heung-min continues to score goals for Tottenham after Kane’s injury. He scored his seventh goal of the season in another great showing in the middle of the attack.

The South Korean forward has been given the captaincy and moved to the center striker spot. He seems to be happy there, with Kulusevski and Maddison helping him out.

Since he moved in the summer, Maddison has looked like he fits right in. Surprisingly, his goal against Fulham was his first in his new home.

The player who used to play for Leicester City didn’t make a single mistake all night, and his long passes set up many of Spurs’ attempts.

In the game program, Postecoglou said that it was too early in the season to look at the table. However, it won’t be long before some fans start to think that they are really in the running for the title.
