The Portuguese forward Rafael Leao inks a new five-year contract with AC Milan.
Forward Rafael Leao has renewed his five-year contract with AC Milan through the summer of 2028.
The 23-year-old Portugal international had been linked to Chelsea on numerous occasions, with his previous contract at the San Siro expiring in 2024.
Leao joined the seven-time European champions from Lille in 2019 and has scored 41 goals in 162 appearances for the club.
Last season, he was dubbed the Serie A player of the year for his contributions to Milan’s first Scudetto since 2011.
This season, he was instrumental in helping Stefano Pioli’s squad reach the Champions League semifinals, where they were defeated by city rivals Inter.
Leao was also a member of the Portugal team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
