Video technology was used to make crucial decisions in Denmark as Manchester United lost badly in the Champions League, capping a week that has seen it make headlines due to its use in Monday’s madness at Tottenham.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, believed that Marcus Rashford’s dismissal for stepping on Elias Jelert’s ankle “changed the game”. By then, the visitors were ahead 2-0. The former United midfielder Paul Scholes told TNT Sports, “In real time, it’s just not a red.”

Scholes was not in agreement with TNT Sports co-commentator Robbie Savage, though. The former Wales midfielder declared, “That is a red card in my book.”
