Alexis MacAllister: Liverpool sign the former Brighton and Argentina midfielder for £35 million.
Liverpool have finalised a £35 million agreement to sign Brighton midfielder Alexis MacAllister on a five-year contract.
The sum for the Argentina playmaker, who helped Brighton finish sixth in the Premier League this season and qualify for Europe for the first time, might increase to £55 million.
The 24-year-old scored 20 goals in 112 appearances for Brighton and helped Argentina win the World Cup in 2022.
“It’s a dream come true for me, and I can’t wait,” Mac Allister remarked.
“I wanted to be in [from] the first day of pre-season, so it’s a relief that everything has been completed.” I’m excited to meet the rest of my team.
“It was a fantastic year for me – the World Cup, what we achieved with Brighton – but now it’s time to think about Liverpool and try to be a better player and human being every day.”
‘He never hides,’ says Liverpool’s latest signing. Mr. MacAllister

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to strengthen his midfield after losing James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.
They were priced out of a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s England teenager Jude Bellingham, who is set to join Real Madrid after the teams agreed on a cost of 103 million euros (£88.5 million).
Mac Allister joined Brighton from Argentinos Juniors in January 2019 and returned to the Buenos Aires club on loan shortly after.
He has made 16 appearances for Argentina and was a vital component in their third World Cup victory in December.
After sitting out the first game against Saudi Arabia, he started the next six and played in the final against France.
“Since I won the World Cup, I’ve said that I want to win more trophies, and I think this club will help me do that,” Mac Allister said.
“That’s the goal, and in a big club like this one, you have to win trophies.” I can see how large this club is, from the players to the personnel. I’m overjoyed and excited to be playing for this team.”
“It’s time to say goodbye to the club that opened the doors for me and gave me such amazing moments,” Mac Allister wrote on Instagram.
“I never imagined I’d be living what I’ve been living for the past three and a half years, but this club gave me that opportunity, and I’ll be eternally grateful.”
“I have no doubts that this team will accomplish many important things because they have the football skills and human qualities to do so.”
“I’ll always keep an eye on you and support you.” Thank you very much, Seagulls; you will always hold a special place in my heart!”
