Brighton will sign midfielder James Milner when his contract with Liverpool expires.

When James Milner’s contract with Liverpool expires on 30 June, he will join Brighton on a one-year agreement.

During his eight years at Anfield, the 37-year-old won six major titles, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.

Earlier on Wednesday, Brighton secured the club record signing of Brazilian forward Joao Pedro from Watford.

“I’m delighted to welcome James to Brighton,” coach Roberto De Zerbi stated.

“He’s an excellent addition for us, and I’m confident he’ll help us get even better.”

The Seagulls will play in Europe for the first time next season after finishing sixth in the Premier League.

Brighton consider Milner’s expertise as possibly essential in their bid to finish in the top ten of the Premier League after two outstanding seasons.
